Description
MULTIPLEX ATOM-M-LINK-M-Link made by PowerBox-Systems

With our ATOM-M-Link remote control system, a new standard is introduced in the upper middle class segment. With a lot of know-how from the CORE-M-Link, a new development of the electronics, adapted software, a Linux computer and a restructuring of the housing production, a system was created that is unrivaled in terms of price-performance.
Above all, the ingeniously simple operating concept is adopted 1:1 from the CORE-M-Link, even model files can be exchanged between ATOM-M-Link and CORE-M-Link.

radio transmission
As with the CORE-M-Link, you also have two 2.4GHz transmission systems available with the ATOM-M-Link. On the one hand the M-Link transmission system and on the other hand the PowerBox transmission system. When binding the receiver, the customer can therefore choose whether to bind an M-Link receiver or a PowerBox receiver.

M link
The extremely secure MULTIPLEX M-Link 2.4 GHz transmission system, which has been tried and tested on the market for years, is fully integrated, as is the case with the CORE-M-Link, which means that all M-Link receivers and sensors can be used fully and conveniently will. The ATOM M-Link works in M-Link mode as usual with 16 channels.
PowerBox 2.4 GHz transmission system
The ATOM-M-Link has a redundant design of the radio link, which is monitored by the receiver. A defect in a transmitter unit can be signaled immediately by the receiver via telemetry. The reliability and interference immunity of the PowerBox radio link has been proven over thousands of operating hours with the CORE.

power supply
The power supply of the ATOM-M-Link is redundant. This means that two separate Li-Ion battery units, each with 3400mAh/7.2V, and the entire voltage regulation is designed twice. Still a feature that is currently only found in PowerBox-Systems remote controls. The battery life is at least 7-8 hours depending on the screen brightness.

Telemetry (in M-Link operation)
You can choose from all MSB sensors from the MULTIPLEX sensor range. All alarm values can be set on the transmitter. All sensor values can also be flexibly configured via voice output.
Since telemetry is now an integral part of every model and will continue to gain in importance in the coming years, this topic was given priority.

P²-BUS telemetry (in PowerBox operation)
The P²-BUS developed by PowerBox-Systems transmits servo and telemetry data on one line at the same time. This simplifies the wiring in the model with conventional servo cables and uni connectors. All sensors on the P²-BUS have individual addresses, which are automatically assigned by the transmitter in the event of multiple occupancy. This means that no active hubs are required for wiring the sensors in the model - all sensors are connected to the receiver via V-cable or passive P² dock. All information such as sensor names or units when the system is switched on to the transmitter is supplied by all sensors. This means that new sensors can be connected to the system at any time, an update of the transmitter is not necessary. In addition to the sensors available from PowerBox-Systems, there is a large number of sensor manufacturers who support the P²-BUS system.

menu structure
In the ATOM-M-Link menu, as with the CORE-M-Link, the pilot encounters a freely programmable system that is primarily defined by functions. You won't find special menus for mixers such as Butterfly, Combiswitch, SnapRoll or other fixed structures from the past in the ATOM-M-LINK M-Link: A function is simply created that consists of a control and the assigned servos. Servos can be assigned to several functions. An example would be the two functions "ailerons" and "flaps", which both work separately. Another function "Butterfly" allows the servos already used to be set individually in the third function without changing the settings of the first two functions.
Additional menu items such as ServoCut, differentiation or virtual switches are basically also universal and help the pilot to set each model according to his wishes in the shortest possible time. An easy-to-understand flight phase structure is added as a powerful tool, with which you can solve even complex tasks quickly and without having to study the instructions for a long time.

operating system
A modern, powerful Linux industrial PC is built into the ATOM-M-Link. It is operated exclusively via the touchscreen. The methodology and haptics are identical to those of a smartphone. In conjunction with an intuitive user interface that allows all related settings to be reached quickly, programming a model is done with just a few inputs.
The user interface was fully programmed with the Qt toolkit. This development environment is now the standard in the embedded GUI area and is used by many well-known manufacturers.
The display used is manufactured according to the specifications of PowerBox-Systems and is very easy to read even in full sunlight. A light tap on the surface is sufficient to operate the capacitive touchpad. Smart keys (shortcut keys) located at the bottom of the screen allow for accelerated access to important functions such as servo monitor and screen lock.
The internal data communication is realized via CAN-BUS. This bus system is predestined for our application and has been used successfully in the automotive and aviation sectors for many decades.

optics and haptics
When you pick up the ATOM-M-Link, you immediately feel at home: all the switches are arranged as you would expect from a high-end system. The pilot is given a professional “tool” that he can use immediately.
The detachable handles covered with microfibre not only look classy, they also ensure a pleasant feeling in the hands at any time of the year. In addition, the center of gravity of the transmitter is perfectly balanced.

highlights
The unique voice output is a special feature. A licensed TTS (Text to Speech) server from Acapella works in the ATOM-M-Link. The currently most sophisticated TTS system offers a number of different voices for each language, which can be used individually to announce telemetry values or switch positions. Time-consuming creation of audio files on the PC and subsequent laborious copying to the transmitter are no longer necessary.

Furnishing
The two sticks, milled from solid, have 4 ball bearings and scan each control input with 12-bit (4096 steps) resolution.
After digital signal processing, a full 2048 steps are available. Four other linear encoders - two on the side and two on top - are also equipped with Hall sensors and have double ball bearings, so that the entire ATOM-M-Link works completely wear-free. Four easily accessible pushbutton switches on the left and right, next to and below the sticks are additional transmitters that can be used perfectly for wheel brakes, electric starters or smoke pumps.
The ATOM-M-Link is supplied as a handheld or console transmitter fully expanded. Of course, built-in stick switches can be ordered as an option. The good accessibility of the switches allows the customer to assign individual switches afterwards
